Left Crankcase Cover Gasket?

Hi All
Does anyone know if I take the left crankcase cover off to change the drive belt, if I have to change the gasket? Or is it reusable? Or does it even need a gasket?

there is really no use for that gasket unless u plan on driving through a lake in the rain.
