Honda Elite rear tire (Will this fit?)

Post by needfasterthan31 »

I just went a bought a 3.50x10 rear performance style tire for my 2001 Elite sr50 and am wondering if it will fit my bike.. I am going up to the local bike shop tomorrow and going to have them put it on my rim but just want to be sure. I searched through posts and only found people talking about the 3.50x10 on their Aeros. When i first got my Elite it did have a 3.50x10 but was more like an original spree style tire. What do you guys think? I hate to pay to get it mounted to find out its too big. I thought i remember hearing the biggest tire you could use is a 3.50x10 but can you use any brand 3.50x10 is what im getting at. Hopefully someone can chime in here soon because i am heading in the morning to have it mounted.

Thanks.

No not any brand 3.50 tire will fit.what brand did you get? the maxxis 6114 tire doesn't fit without modification done to the engine case I know for sure.A 90/90 will fit with no problems.
Nothing like getting stroked!

Feichi type 3.50-10. Thats what the tire says. In about 1 hour i need to take it up there or i wont have a vehicle. I hope i do not have to pay twice for installing a tire and have to buy another one. let me know if you heard of this tire not working hopefully soon.

Thanks.

I had to run out while i still had a vehicle so i just went with a 90/90-10 again. Next time i will order up a Michelin S-12 3.50-10. I finally found a posting that said that tire works.

Greetings:

Sorry nobody had 1st hand experience with your brand. Even the 90/90 must be deflated to install or it snags the exhaust lug and won't thread the axle.

Yeah i know i posted the tire make at the last moment but it was a big 3.50 tire. Side by side to my old bald 90/90 was a couple inches difference. I could tell there was no way it would fit. That Michelin S-1 must be on the smaller side of the 3.50 tires.
