cheap speed

i changed the pitch of my stock variator and shorten the coller it rides on by 2.5mm. im gettin 45mph
with stock bore and i weight 255#s! stock rollors, pipe, and air box. i do have 2k springs in it though.
Sa50p: port/polish, custom vari, 88mj, restrictions removed. 47 mph

YES I DID IT WITH A LATHE. IM STILL FINE TUNING IT. I HAVE 2 COLLERS SO IM GOING TO GO 3.5MM ON THE OTHER. ILL KEEP YA POSTED WITH RESAULTS

It would seem that by shortening the variator boss, any top-end gains would be at a sacrifice of bottom-end performance?

Almost like starting in second gear every takeoff.

The 2k grab springs probably help with that. Sure it's like starting in second gear, but it's like reving it up in second gear and droppin' the clutch 2k higher than normal. :thumbsup:

Spreetard and I are working on a similar mod for the spree. 40 mph on 49cc :2thumbs:

With 2.5 mm taking off the vari boss and changing the pitch of the vari I'm getting 47 mph with a 2nd over bore that has been ported and polished and all the "s" restrictions removed and an 88 mj in the carb.

I hope you know that if you change the final drive gears i can make a 400 lbs. person very happy at 50 mph :happy:
