Se50 speed time. In an '86 spree.

Post by nickisaninja »

I have derestricted my se50 and am using an ruckus variator. I'm pulling just over 40mph on flats here on the stock bore. That's not nearly fast enough in my spree frame and I weight about 140lbs.

So here's the deal, I've got a budget of $600. I want to make this spree as fast as possible. I'm not afraid of swapping motors to something else. I could even grab a different frame!
I'd really like to keep the se50 motor in it and go huge bore/stroke but I can't really find any bbk over 70cc.

So I'm looking for 60mph or faster here, burnouts and wheelies and I'm NOT GOING TO PUT IN A DIO. They don't really come around these parts often and I just really don't care. I'd rather flap in a gy6! Also I'm not concerned with staying under 300cc. My knowledge of the moped/scooter/motorcycle motor world is very very limited. What could fit? What motors have the sweet engine+transmission+brake assembly that would mount up under a spree frame?

Let me know, plus it has to be available. No single year super rare import hot motor from the '80s nonsense. Did that already!

actually the turbo idea is a good one. upjet at the same time, and you could easily hit what your asking.
If it don't fit, force it. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway.

That statement applies to you. :jack: You can not have your cake and eat it too. Pick one, super fast top end or blinding acceleration. These things don't have 6 speed trannies, so you can't have both.

Think leaf blower on a small car motor. Maybe a small, modified hair dryer on a spree?
An electric turbo would be simple and efficient on a scooter.
I'm sorry you're offended that you didn't think of this first.

I'll bet you're going to try and tell me THAT isn't going to make a spree faster?
Do this turbo Idea.....it is a waaaay better Idea than swapping a DIO :imo:

You've got a sad life.

By the way, the my little pony forums respond better than you do.

I have four scooters that go over 60mph.

You have delusions about 300cc sprees and leaf blower turbo setups.

ELECTRIC TURBO!
How did that work out ? :eyeroll:

If you wanna make a spree go over 60mph, swap in a dio Why are you so against the obvious answer?

I blew up my last se50 from an electric ducted fan, looks like way too much heat. I was using two 7.2v li-po batteries and a controller from a traxxas emaxx. The jug cracked and everything from connecting rod up is toast. They're not made to do work.
I'm against the obvious answer because they're simply not available here and I'm not shipping a moped motor here that's ridiculous.
