Household Items Dream Bike
What are some things you guys have done with pretty much things you find around the garage, or really cheap stuff to make ur bike faster/better looking? i dont want to spend a bunch of money, but i want to get over my 35 mph. i have a fully derestricted sa50p with a 105 main jet, breather filter and derestricted stock exhaust. give me some ideas guys

I used ruckus variators out of my parts box to make a couple go faster. Punch the second hole in the airbox but that wont help you. Installed gears and a met wheel.jlynn433 wrote:What are some things you guys have done with pretty much things you find around the garage, or really cheap stuff to make ur bike faster/better looking? i dont want to spend a bunch of money, but i want to get over my 35 mph. i have a fully derestricted sa50p with a 105 main jet, breather filter and derestricted stock exhaust. give me some ideas guys

my scooter only goes about 37-ish right now, but it gets there quick. ive heard of people getting up to 65 with the stock engine. i want to be that guy, so the variator will help me a great deal on top speed?

Re: Household Items Dream Bike
to get the 6.3s to work in a 50cc you would have to push it down a hill to get up to speed before it would even have the enertia to pull You could go with the 9.1 gearing to gain a few mphs

Re: Household Items Dream Bike
That chart assumes you have the horsepower to push the scooter that fast with those gear. A 50 cc motor is never gonna have that much horsepower without giving up all reliability and normal acceleration (it's gonna be a dog off the line and will break all the time).
You will need something like this;

Re: Household Items Dream Bike
Greetings:
First, 105 Main is way big for 50cc and stock pipe. It's the size I ran with a 65 Cortessa and LeoVince pipe with K&N filter. Look for 88-90 to match yours a lot better.
Rich will run cooler, but power suffers and carbon build-up will develop quickly.
If you keep stock bore, 9.1:1 gears can achieve 49 MPH with no other mods than a variator. Flash 3 did it with an SR pipe and no airbox punch+out.
That was GPS, son, not some wildly optimistic Honda estimate.
8.4:1 gears work well at 72ccs. I have 7.58s to allow highway speeds, but they stifle stoplight take-off pretty bad, even running 10K RPM off the variator.
6.3s need a lot more torque than a Corsa, let alone a 50cc stock bore can generate. Theoretical speed won't translate to reality without a steep downhill or a gale from astern.
Gear for the power you have for real Street rideability.
