Variator windows or notches

Nave been reading about cutting window or notches in the Nu50 variator for obvious performance improvements, but am concerned about throwing the variator out of dynamic balance. Where would someone go to have a small piece like the variator checked for correct balance after doing the mod?

Did you see Routabit's YouTube videos? He is using an adapted Dio (SA50) variator. Seems like the better way to go from what I read. The guys notching the Hobbit variators seem to shred rollers via one moped blog I read.
