anyone try a cdi like this?

I picked up that cdi for my golf cart when I thought I had a problem with the cdi on it. I tried it on my dio spree for a bout a minute. I didn't want to drive around the city with it until I had a chance to really see what it did first. It certainly was different from the spree cdi. Not sure what to think of it yet. Anyone try one of those on a dio? I will probably get the real killer malossi cdi someday anyway. I'm just curious.

I have one as well, no gain but it was harder to start, if that's what you're going for.

if im not mistakin those race cdis are supposed to send a double spark to burn excess fuel in the cylinder ... although it does crap out pretty fast and there is no drastic or little change in performance... stock cdi for the win :2thumbs:

The dwell at high speeds on a double spark would be catastrophic. I would imagine it does not.

thats what i was told a double... maybe a bigger spark ... for sue though it is intended to burn the excess fuel. Stock cdi i think is much more reliable and effective :2thumbs:

I have one also, no gain, actually performance loss over 8,000 rpm, it is worse than a stock CDI, waste of money.
You can read all about CDI comparisons here. http://motorscooterguide.net/Forum/view ... son#p16092

Thanks guys. That's the advice I was lookin for. I like the stock spree cdi I didn't like the immediate change in bottom end the blue one gave me it just didn't rip. I only got it to replace the golf cart cdi anyway. So no loss there. I didn't trust it especially if I was going to be burning around the city with not a lot of time to spare before having to go to work.
