I bought a new crank case for my project Spree because I stripped the threads on the crank that's on it. The one I bought came with a pulley I've never seen before. Not that I'm some kind of expert LOL...
Has anyone seen this? Pictured is the original, heavy pulley, the new one, and the SSS Speed pulley I was going to put on. The new one is aluminum and maybe a little lighter than the SSS pulley.

Re: Different OEM pulley?
Anecdotally:
I have both an '85 and an '86. The '86 has the old pully. The '85 had the new one. I bought both used, so I can't speak to whether that condition is stock or not, but I believe it is.

In your photo the center pulley is the early Spree. The pulley on the left of your pic is the newer one.
Check out noiseguy's thread detailing pulley differences and mods between 84/85 Spree vs 86/87 Spree and SB50.

Re: Different OEM pulley?
Thank you both for the info! I should have mentioned that the gold pulley came off my '87's original engine, and from what I was told the donor engine was from an '85 so that would make sense. I could swear that my '85 has the heavier gold pulley from when I replaced the belt, but now I am not sure... I do know that it was bone stock when I got it, only had 65 miles on it. I may have to pull the side cover to check now...

Honda used the middle pulley from the factory for their '84 and '85 Sprees, then switched to the left one for their '86 and '87 models. The left one is also the service part that Honda uses if they ever replaced the pulley. All the same engine, same gear ratio, just different hunk of metal.
