where can i find the cheapest set of gears 9:1 ratio for a 2000 elite sr with the mrp stage 2 powerpack. i already have the powerpack i just need the gearing right. All input would be greatly helpfull and thanks to all that apply

umm you might want to go with some lower gears. 8.44:1 gears at least. if the power pack is strong enough you might even want to go with 7:1 gears.

VtCycles has them for 35-45$ pending on brand. Unless any one else has a better place Vt Cycles is were i would go. Plus every body that works there is very nice and would make sure you got the right gears for your bikes set up.

what would happen if i ran the kit without the gears for a while or until i could get some gears in. I dont wont to over do anything

gears are a big help with the breaking in process. they allow you to go faster at lower rpms.
i run a few bikes of mine with out gears. so its not like a thing the bike needs. but it just makes everything much easier on the motor. And will ensure a long life.

Thanks dac you have been helpfull. thats a load off my shoulders becouse i really cant afford the gears at the moment. and i will take it very slow for my break in process id say about 25 to30mph for 3 to400 miles.

9 to 1 gears are for stock honda derestricted engines, 8 to 1 are for bore kits like yours, i have a used set for $20 plus shipping, i just went on the mrp website and it looks like you just spent $399 for that kit!
Can't afford speed then stay away from it!

Warning, don't buy stuff from that guy. He's done nothing but lied and given lots of bad info around here.

Try VT Cycles, they'll set you up with some gears.
