So this is how my 94 Mini-stroked Corsa came out

Post by baha_boy »

So i put in a 44.1 Rumia FM crank and a Corsa kit with 2 extra base gaskets on my used to do 27mph scoot. i got a PG Long with an oko 28mm carb and CT reeds. it currently has 8.44:1 gears in it but i'm looking for close to 7:1 to put in. right now it tops out around 62. i chopped the motor mount and extended it 1 inch to try to prevent wheelies. it helped but i'm not sure if it was worth $40 because the front wheel still pulls up. i got an oil plug from VT which was a tight fit. i've been runing around 30:1 and it's taken 2.5 gallons to get the first 75 miles. i've only done one WOT run and hit 62. it feels like it's running rich it feels like it gets close to flooding and i have to open it up all the way any thoughts on the plug?

What a Beast Thou Hath Wrought

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

Very nice build, and nice results!

The plug color as represented on my tiny BB screen seems pretty close. Rich is safer than lean. Needle position? We're looking for "cardboard" color. Tune idle, then midrange, then wot in that order.

Gearing up with your 62 top speed is a mixed bag. It probably won't increase your practical, usable too speed very much except downhill and downwind. Planing a trip down I-90 to Sturgis are we?
Remember it may make the bike slower upwind, too. The engine won't be working so hard at cruising velocities, but you will impair those "on purpose" Wheelies so impressive to the fair damsels.

Accidental Wheelies are throttle-dependent. Learn wrist discipline or just sit farther forward?

Anyhow, I'd be very proud of that build. Nice job!

once broken in.

62mph initially is perfect. but are you serious about the wheelies?? shoulda went 7:1, or just learn to launch better.

bike looks VERY similar
projects galore :nerd:

Stay with those gears you got and fine tune it.70-75mph is not out of the question and you will get there fast.
Nothing like getting stroked!

The needle is in mid position. instead of gearing up i'm thinking about finding a new Vari. i have the high speed oko. it moves weird feels like it has drag around mid RPM's. anyway what are you stroked ppl running? i have a SEF ramp plate already i wish i did not throw away stock Vari.

oh anyone want to trade 8.44:1 for 7:1?

What kind of mileage are stroker corsa ppl getting cause i can make a gallon gone in 30 miles right now with a 55 idle and 152 main. -John
