the airbox will help richen that pilot up and your main will drop alot down. you should still be able to see 55mph with the airbox.just punch that tab out and middle divider for the tabs and you should be good.you just will have to play with the jetting again.

So this "clip" everyone is talking about wasn't the thing I thought.
Pictures of the needle clip? And once I figure out what is is, I want to lower the clip to raise the needle right?

....or at least a good explanation of where it is located

the clip that everyone refers to is the retaining clip on the needle.the stock needle has 3 different slots for that clip.you have to take the top cap off the carb to get to the needle.

Greetings:

MouseWheels posted up one of his usual excellent clear show-offy pics recently. Here's how to get to it:

1. Unscrew carb top
2. Unhook slide.
3. Pinch the retaining "W" clip that holds the needle down.
4. Push the needle out.

You'll see a little "E" clip in the center groove of the slide needle. That's the one you want to move all the way toward the tip so the needle rests a little higher. Since it raises out of its position obtructing the main jet sooner, your mixture goes richer at lower throttle openings.

Alright, got a br8hs plug in there with my needle raised,
Now the issue, it seems to bog off the line inconsistently. What could that be? It seems to be worse when I'm riding for a while and have to stop for ten seconds or so. Sometimes it will bog to the point where I can't get above 5mph for about ten seconds.

are you still running the uni with the 118 main jet? what did you gap the plug at?

Yes, still uni and 118 jet. Plug is gapped to what the one I pulled out was at which was to spec.
My bogging is sparatic which is really throwing me for a loop. I think my jetting is pretty close to where it needs to be, sometimes it takes off like normal and sometimes I'm just sitting there and waiting for it to pick up...

Did you ride the bike in the rain? Is the filter wet?

The wet filter is a possibility, would that cause sparatic bogging? I could see how it could cause that, but it also did this thinking back when it was dry yesterday. I think I. Should get a stock box, jet back to 110 where I was before and that worked well for reliability.

yes a wet airfilter will do that.it could also be wet electricals too if you went through water that was on ground.sometimes if water gets in the harness it can cause issues like that too.lots of other factors that cause the same symptoms.if the air temp got warmer and humidity was high, the bike will run rich if you had it tuned origanally incooler high dense air.remember these 2 stroke engines are sensitive to air changes especially after modding it from stock.

My scooter is now back with a vengence.
The stock airbox with the stock carb seems to be the way to go. I dropped the main back to 110 needle is up from middle and put a stock airbox on it again.(thanks tw)
10 solid miles without any weirdness whatsoever and more consistent power from the stock box.
Its very good to have a scooter to ride again.
