Wheelies.

Post by Justinsane »

is it possible to wheelie with a stock spree? or do you need spring, or induction mods?

and also, is there any upgrades or mods someone should do if theyre gonna be riding wheelies all the time?

yes u can. (granted not easy with the sprees power). u can reverse the pulley mod which will give u more low end. lean back crack the throttle pull up like a bike. or u can try this.

there is a lot of talk about shaving the inner pulley to bring to 2 pulley half together increasing the ratio. which will give you more top end.

if u add washers in between them then u will spread the pulleys farther apart decreasing the ratio and improving acceleration.

however, u will lose top end.

Go to SonicJay's site (see web links.) He's got a vid clip riding wheelies on a bone-stock Spree.

Basically, to wheelie you get going about 5-10 MPH (this get you in the torque band of the engine), then bounce down on the front fork. As it bounces back up hit the throttle and lean back. Modulate throttle and brake to keep up. I suck at wheelies, and I can still lift the front tire for a few seconds doing this. SonicJay can ride these for 50 ft.

Zoom; did you do the pully mod properly? using the spacers to re align the pully, going to a 1" longer belt? whats wrong with your carb. why do you need new gaskets? did you bamage your old ones? I'm sure we can help you out with getting your spree back up and going with out spending a ton of coin. sprees shouldn't cost hardly any money to keep going. they are really basic.

... it's bent on both sides? Any chance your bottom end bearings are shot?
