head turning

Post by portets »

just got my tazland kit.

so when i go to get my head turned, what dimensions do i use? i know it's 44mm in diameter, but how deep do i have it cut? 0.020 inches like the factory step is? at least i know it's 0.020 inches deep on the 85..... but i have an 87'. any difference there?

i'm looking for a compression ratio between 8.5:1 and 9.5:1. 8:1 is my minimum, and 10:1 is max.

sorry if i'm bombarding you with math, i just want an estimate though.
thanks!

Personally, I'd just just the .020" off the head *if it will clear*. This will make it flat.

Otherwise you'll need to ask the seller. I think the idea would be to remove .020" from a band around the edge.

I would bore level to the combustion chamber surface.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
