After my work, I head down to hawaii import parts and asked for a aircooled vw exhaust gasket that goes on a cylinder head, their are 4 gaskets on a motor. Just need 2 only.

Gasket fits fine.

and yup Meatball, that's the ones.

Ended up going to a VW buggy shop, and they hooked it up with 4 different types of those same gaskets for $2bucks! Gonna try to use em to mate up a Tecnigas pipe to stock bore on the ZX50

Greetings:

Nope! Telltale louvers over the rear wheel-wells show the conventional rear-axle location of the air-cooled Boxer 4. 1500 or 1600 ccs. At the time, a whopping 48HP seemed enough.

Wheelmans right- they were called "type 3's" and had a flatter topped version of a bug motor. Also came in "notch-back" and "fast-back" body styles. Very similar suspension as the bugs. I wish I had picks of my dad's v-dubs but those days are long gone...

It was a 1600cc...This peticular car was featured in "Hot VWs" magazine back in its hey day. The shaved door handles really made it unique since it wasn't done much back then. I got looks everywhere I went and plenty of thumbs ups on the road. It made a simple trip to the gas station turn into an hour long conversation with the guy next to me. I want to buy it back from its current owner and restore it since they've neglected it over the years. This time Id drop a Type 4 motor in it since they had more cc's and are an easy swap.

I went to a car show last Summer where they had a mobile Dyno. You could buy two runs for $50. I watched car after car do runs at 400, 500 almost 700hp. Then I saw the guy pull up with a VW Beetle that was a "Herbie" replica and do a run....everyone cheered when he turned the drum at a whopping 48hp...
