Hello,
I have a 1988 honda scooter with a sa50 motor. Ive read some of the threads and learned a little about it but my friend has a 2008 honda knock off and it smokes me top end. Right now im hitting 31-33mph with a coke bottle intake and a hole drilled in my exhaust and 6500miles on my motor. Any good suggestions for carb and exhaust combo for a big bore kit

so you have an elite lx maybe?
Does the kicker go clockwise or counterclockwise to start?
Take a picture of what you have and I'll be able to tell you more.
new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight
Re: Spree first time
the kicker when kicked rotates clockwise. and towards the rear tire of the scooter.

Re: Spree first time
Greetings:
Welcome. If your kickstart cover is a 2-piece, you probably have the later Elite engine stamped as AF16ecalled the SA/16 around here. If a 1-piece, you likely have an AF05, AKA SE/05 here. Both engines are capable of 37mph in healthy stock condition. Trouble is that "performance" mods made by unknowing enthusiasts often have the opposite effect. The "Coke-bottle Intake" will be louder, hence "feel" faster but actually slowed it down. Particularly true if nobody addressed the leaned-out mixture it created by installing a larger Main Jet.
Furthermore at 6500 miles, the running gear may be tired and/or carbon-encrusted. Rather than start spending on go-slightly-faster carbs and pipes, I recommend you evaluate whatcha got. Do a compression test and have a look at the carbon content of the exhaust pipe, ports and combustion chamber. See how good you can get it going stock before you upgrade those costly accoutrements.
