Gaskets

Post by tjrriffic »

I'm not having any luck getting gasket kits as they seem to be out of production. Any websites or other places that stock them? I'm so close to having a full day of reassembly... :geekdance:

For which bike?

For Sprees, click search, type gasket, hit enter, scroll, then click http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewto ... it=gaskets

So easy even a noob can do it.

Then I don't know.

By the way, what part of Phoenix you in? I moved here from Chandler about a year ago, will be back in about a year or so.

Sorry, gotta say, hot enough for you? I miss it...

I don't see the problem. Ask the Honda dealer to order the d*** things. Look here for numbers.

Zuph - Im up north just south of Anthem/Carefree area and yes, it IS hot enough for me. :P I'm down here from WA across the water from Seattle for school. Only havin the Bike has proven to be interesting. Heat off the motor and heat all around = death at stoplights.

Bear - Yeah ive been trying to order those gasket kits but they keep telling me that theyre not made anymore.

If they were not made anymore, the part number would not be listed (like a number of things for my 1983 Aero 80) or would be marked NLA.

Maybe there's a forum member who has a set of gaskets for the SB50 and would be willing to scan them. That way you could trace them onto gasket material form Autozone, O'Reilly's, etc. and cut your own.

A few months ago there was a thread concerning the idea of posting gasket scans. If they were posted here I'd be willing to run up some vector files and post them here in case anyone has a Cricut or other electronic cutter.

Which gaskets do you need? The fiber ones would be easier than copper or aluminum.

I have started scanning the gaskets I have and sending them to the Moderators. I believe some of them have even made it to the Wikispreedia pages.

The page is pretty rough, but we have a place to put/find scans. Present are Fishman's scans - AF05 intake gasket, AF16 Nikasil bore kit base and head gasket. Also Clivester's AF05 base gasket up on the wiki. Let's fill that page up

Greetings:

Users take note that there are differences between the U.S.-market SA50 Elite AF16 engine blocks and some bore kits. Some, like the Polini & Malossi 47mms, and at least one version of the Nikasil 49mm, fit directly on the AF16 cases. Others, like the Char-Mo, Ruima and probably others were designed for the Dio AF18 cases, which feature a considerably larger boost port and hence the gasket cutout.

Here's more. By the way, I don't see any vector images there for those with access to cutters/plotters

I just found out the Base Gasket supplied with the Nikasil bore is not the correct gasket  (I cut my own, but not worthy of a scan and post!)

I will however scan the rest of the gasket s I have

I bought my wife a Cricut in January. I didnt even think of using it for that. I also found the deep cut blades online. Keep me in the loop on this I do not mind cutting some gaskets for anyone. Of course for a small fee to cover cost, blades, material, and shipping. It's the big one that does 12" X whatever with the software that we use (not cricut software) and it will only be limited to the size of the gasket material. All I need is the svg vector files.
