I run RP in my 85 Spree, and it seems to perform much better than it did on standard 2-cycle oil. idle is smoother, and it goes about 35mph with my 300 pounds on it. I run my scoot at just about full throttle all the time to get to the 30+mph range and it has never had any issues, i attribute that to good oil and premium gasoline. It costs more but i intend to keep my spree alive for a long time.

just my 2 cents worth.
