44mm bbk timing

Post by guen84 »

does any one know what the port timing should be for the 44mm bbk on a AF05. i think the kit is crap. transfer ports only open like 1/8 inch. the boost port cut is all jacked up one side is bigger than the other. directions say run 2 head gaskets, but then compression is only 90. when kit was installed could hear piston slap, part of boost port casting broke loose, and scoured the cylinder.. just wondering if any one knows when these ports should be opening and for how long... see if cant salvage this crap kit.

90 elite lx all stock except uni and oko variator.. thanks for the help, ill try and get some picks up tomorrow..

OH! ......And the cylinder has maybe 10 min worth of Break-in time! Guess that was worth the $75...NOT!

I just love these experts that have no clue what they are talking about but know everything. You could hear the piston slap? On a new bore? With new rings? Only if you either ordered the wrong kit or install things wrong. But of course it is the kits fault. Couldn't possibly be the mechanic doing the work or the guy ordering the parts. :jack:

Looks to me like you are the take it out of the box and throw it together types. You obviously had burrs or sharp edges that needed clean up in the cylinder and when you didn't you not only tore up the piston but the bore. A pro would never have assembled that kit as it came out of the box. You got lucky before but you can't live forever in the engine building world on luck.

NOT AT ALL! Been building snowmobile's,quads, dirtbikes, and scoots for years! The cylinder looked like a crisp $100 bill when I got this. There were no burrs or any sign of pre-clean prior to the install. I have had some stuff I had to clean up before but this looked good! I think the quality was s*** but when dealing with a af05 you don't have many options! And there alot of people having issues with this 44mm kit that i've seen, so I bet they have the same problem.

LOL!!! Never had any! Just cant stand when people come off with some BS and don't know the facts! Some people have GOLD PLATED engines around here that NEVER FAIL!!!That 's all.It is possible that someone can receive a bad cylinder because other contries don't have quality control. We were just asking for alittle help on the subject and if someone can help us with the port timing that would be great.

hey you wanna be lawn mower mechanic dont start talking trash when you dont even know the story, the ports did get chamfered before install... like usual bear doesnt have a clue on the answer so he has to raise his low self-esteem by bashing on something he has no clue of what the story is.... maybe you should spend less time bashing people on this site and more time trying to find a women that will give you some, maybe you wont be so up tight... :b2t: any help would be great on this. was thinking possibly raising cylinder up and getting head milled down....

More cc in one 2 stroke cylinder than in your whole engine.
