2.75 X 10 are not that much wider but they are taller and that is what makes you go faster. Of course the taller tire on the front corrected some of the speedometer error and shows you going slower. You need to check speeds with a GPS because Honda speedometers lie and changing tire size changes the lie.

Maybe your going faster but it threw your speedo off and it says your slowe. That or you don't make enough power to turn the bigger tires

also, under inflating your tires will slow you down as well. i always air mine up just a hair over max psi...probably shouldnt, but i do.

Weight is not the issue and neither are the powder coated rims. It has to due with tire height changing your gear ratios, the scooters final overall ratio and the speedometer gear ratio. When I put bigger tires on my Spree I just did the rear tire to start with and the speedometer showed the 1/2 mph the GPS did. Then I Installed the 2.75 X10 front tire. But having been lazy I haven't rechecked the speedometer for accuracy against the GPS.

right, thats what i was getting at too. Not the weight of the tire, but the higher gear ratio taking more power make the wheel turn

power coated wheels won't make a difference unless maybe you put like 12 coats on of powdered lead

bigger/wider tire = more friction = slower speeds unless you have the power to turn them

does if you're going thru soft gravel...well, makes it a * of a lot easier.
there's a reason they dont put touring rims on beach cruisers.

edit... it doesnt increase top speed...ever.

I thought he meant wider as a backwards way of saying taller. Like the sidewall is greater

why would they use such small tires on a racing bicycle? :jack:
