"preformance cdi'd" dont really do much, and they are known to crap out. your best bet is only get one if your stock one goes out

some performance cdi's arer known to retard the spark and so does some coils like the one with the wire attatched to it so I've heard.So try not to get two aftyermarket parts that do the same thing.
