Reeds should be closed, with minimal gap (1mm or so is OK.)

If it didn't run before, your carb is the likely problem. I thought it was running before you installed the kit.

you took off the side skirts, exhaust, shroud and bore. Then installed the new bore. Reinstalled the shroud and exhaust. installed the spark plug and capped it with the coil. Then put backthe side skirts. All that in 1/2 an hour.

If the scoot is half pulled apart anyway, changing the jug doesn't take long. I don't even install the sideshields back on mine anymore, as I'm always playing with the engine.

You and Darat both have 65cc kits in your bikes; you two SHOULD be talking about what weights, ramps, and springs to use on that setup once you get it running.

Me, I've got Darat's old '87 Elite powerplant as a basket case in my garage... I should post pics.

Ahhhh ok I am on the same page now. But you guys remember the spree I got from a kid off creigs list for $50? And took the stock engine off and replaced it with a 87 se elite engine? Well I sent both those carbs to greg for him to rebuild for me, on top of which I bought a rebuilt carb thats on the way. Darat? What size jet are you using on your 65cc hookup? I was told to use a 90 if I am running the stock air filter and run 100 jet if I had a after market filter. And what weight combo are you using?
