New 21mm Oko Carb setup help

Post by scottinscotty »

hey hey' i'm installing my new 21mm black oko carb and oko intake.. and have noticed that i need a oil injection and petcock port.. of wich i only have one. so do i drill and tap and install another port into the intake above the other port? or do i need the petcock hose to connect to a port on the intake? or how should i go about doing this?
P.S. i do not want to get rid of my oil injection system either..

Greetings:

Yes you can tap in another port if you can find a supplier of 1/8" barbs. That's not as easy as you think.
Be sure to bond the threads if you do, no leaks! I used JBWeld after I developed a vac leak.

For the 1/8" hose barb, check at hobby shops that have gas (actually nitro/methane) engines on them.

Small sized threaded taps are in most well stocked hobby shops catering to the 'gassers' Du-Bro is a big supplier of these items, RC cars and gas planes are too.

Check this link, then call a few local hobby shops, and I think you can score the tap of your choice.

Your carb does not have a extra port for oil?

I thought the 21mm and the 28mm had an extra port.

I have an extra vacuum port one that i took out of a ct mani that you could have.

One of my OKO's, the 26 has the oil port. The 24 does not. It has the casting boss but is not drilled and has no nipple. I think I will drill and tap it though.

There is a bit more turbulence right behind the slide which mixes the oil into the fuel and air stream better.

well my cousin timmy had a extra fitting for the ct mani' he used the screw due to pre-mixing.. so needless to say i drilled and tapped the intake to add a vac line for the petcock... the scooter's seems to run flawless with a 40 pilot and 115 main.. and runs temps of around 300 to 330.. and drops at idle.. so think it's dialed in pretty good :naughty:

so you are going to use your stock oil pump and not have to premix with the 21mm?

so you are going to use your stock oil pump and not have to premix with the 21mm? only reason i ask is because i stuck to stock manifold and carb because i did not want to premix, but if i can use the oil injector with the 21mm carb and bigger manifold that would be even better. still don't want to premix.

do you just run the oil line that was previously on the stock manifold to the 21mm carb? or does it go to the new manifold?

of do i completely have it wrong to begin with?
It is the size of the motor (how many CC's) that determines if the oil pump will supply sufficient oil to the engine, not the carb size.

If you are going to use the oil pump you will have to drill and tap for a second fitting in the intake. That is unless Taz is sending an OKO that has an oil nipple on the carb. My 24 OKO has an Oil nipple while my 26 does not. Other than that, this is a bolt on.
