I checked everything. Exhaust is tight no oil near the flange or even on the front of the case. I will be gluing the nipple into the manifold. All of my hoses have clamps as piece of mind. Im up to any suggestions. My gears should be here this week and I plan on swapping them in that day and doing some runs.

spray carb clean to find a leak. if the rpm changes when you spray the carb clean then you have a leak. if no leak then carb is running lean from either to low a float level or fuel is to slow going into the carb from either a fuel line hose going uphill at some point or petcock diaphram not opening all the way. or clogged fuel filter in the petcock. those size jets your running is a 28mm carb size jets. did you buy that carb new or used? if the emulsion tube was messed with, that wouls be a reason also why the jets are so big.

For checking the float Is it supposed to sit parallel to the case when held upside down.

no. the float needle is spring loaded. right where the needle needs some pressure to be press that pin in is where the float height will be. i think it need to be 19mm from the bottom of the float to the carb body where the cover goes. you can also hook up a clear hose to the drain nipple on the bottom of the carb and open the drain plug to let fuel through. hold the hose up but dont plug the end of the hose and see where the fuel height is. you might have to crank the engine a few times with the engine stop switch in the off position just to fill the carb bowl up after you open the drain plug to let fuel in the hose.

Here is what my scooter is doing. 2001 elite sr just hit 2k miles. Put aftermarket pipe and used a ncy variator with 8.5 gram rollers. My speedo hits the middle of the h on the mph. So i would think about 46-47mph. No gps sorry. My front rim is bent so i know this is holding me back. Running the stock 68 jet. Waiting on melt down really so I can bore up. Temp on the exhaust flange was 545F :nervous: I know from the past anything around 400-425 will seize. So i ordered a elite sr 78 main and a air filter since the kid removed it no clue really. Gonna try a airsal copy 49mm from taiwan and report my results will use heavier rollers and see if 52mph is possible with stock gear.
