Does any body know a easy path to a china disc brake conversion for the 2001 50 SR. I know I sound cheap but I know those china discs work alot better than my drums at 64mph. I heard trafficjamz worked something like this but could not find the thread. Thanks

p.s. My wife and I went to the gym on my purple elite tonight and hit around 50-55mph... Thats about 330lbs!!! My temp got to 397 F. What is melting point?

Factoring in a small amount of error in the temperature reading and you almost assuredly have passed 400*F

Using the disc setup from a '90s Dio AF35 might work, but when you look at one (see photo), there's a lot of parts need to be swapped out. There's a couple for sale on craigslist, but at $750 it might be cheaper to sell yours and buy the AF35 rather than buying it for parts and doing the conversion.

You turn your bike off while its that hot? I let my bike run while
Cooling down so that way the fan circulates air around he cylinder and also so the piston and cylinder cool down at the same speeds.

The steering stem and fork angle is all wrong if you are trying to do the sa50 elite. The '87 se50 elites are straight swaps for the live Dio fork/tree setup.

You'll have to buy the kit that's available in Hawaii$$$$.

Personally, you're better off buying an '87 elite.
