pg long swaped

Post by TikiMan »

I installed my pg long last night and have been cruising all day long. The scooter does not rev as high as it used to. Im running a 24mm carb with a 120 jet middle clip and 6 gram weights in the vari. I also have no low end take off until i go wot. Where should I start.

Greetings:

Is the PG new or used?

The Bear is correct, but 120 may be close. Also the Pilot size matters. Which Pilot is in your 24?

What bore kit are you running? (brand/ cc?)

What type of air filter?

What clutch springs are you running? (both center and clutch shoe springs)

With the use of a PG Long pipe, these are ideal OKO 24mm carb settings:

Main: 125
Pilot: 50
Air screw: 1-1/2 turns "out"
Throttle needle setting: Middle groove
These settings work well with a UNI 2stage air filter.

Clutch grabs at 4100 rpms and i max out around 9300rpm. temp runs under 310f at wot never gone past 323f. If i ride at 2/3 throttle itll run like my r6 but anywhere else its just not moving at all.

So i was playing with jets and i got it all the way up to 130 on the center clip. It would run but gargle at every position but wot. I went to change my plug and check found out its been sitting crooked. ill be tapping it in the morning. No matter what size jet i install it still gargles. Can too light of weights effect this? Im open to suggestion.

WOT is controlled by the main jet size. Anything from 1/4 to 3/4 that is controlled by the needle. So adjust it after doing a plug chop where the engine is gargling, whatever that is.
