foot vs psi guage

My benelli would not fire up so i used a brand new psi guage,= 110 psi= piston was shot, put the guage on the new piston and it comes up 105 psi but my foot on the kicker feels like 150 psi, the engine fires up, the guage ships back and my foot wins
