There is a bunch of stuff, but sprees have their limitations since they have a single speed drive. So dont expect much more than 32 or 33mph without spending some major cash. The first thing I will tell you, is do all of the maintenance first. So new air filter, make sure the air box lid is right with a gasket. New ngk bpr6hs gapped to .025". Carb is properly cleaned and idle air mixture is set properly. Check compression and make sure its in spec. If its a a high milage like 4000 miles on it is have a look at the condition of the cylinder it may need a hone and new rings and possibly a new piston and in that case a new domed piston set would get you better performance over the dished original. Check the condition of the belt, they tend to be worn narrow robbing of top end speed, of its worn out replace with a new belt. Replace belt with an AX24 cogged belt to rest or the original top end speed plus some more. The ax24 belt is a good place to start mod wise to make it a little faster, but not with out making sure the motor is up to snuff first

A dio is another newer Honda scooter, that has mountains of go fast parts for it and it has CVT transmission which the spree does not. The dio swap is a very popular motor to swap to a spree. Its kinda controversial here sometimes. Swapping a motor can be really cool, if you want 45mph but you need to have a motor and be willing to swap. If you are happy with the stock spree and want just a little more out of it, keep it mod it a little and order the tuned pipe someday and rip it as is. The mlm tuned expansion chamber exhaust makes a spree climb hills like you never imagined it would. My 84 spree with some intake modding an ax24 belt an mlm tuned pipe will climb a decent hill pretty much at 30mph then get to at least 33mph possibly more on the flats I haven't GPS it lately.

Were can I get the AX24 cogged belt? Is this an easy mod to do?

Fairly easy to get an AX24, usually industrial supply outlets can get them. AX24 is the part #. An easy mod to restore some lost top end from a worn out belt and gain a little. Pull the side cover pull drive pulley pull clutch replace belt. You have to be very careful not to pinch the belt in between the halves of the small drive pully when you tighten the nut. Trafficjamz is selling a set of sb50 reeds for 5$ they fit the spree to get better flow . Buy a spree intake tube and port it for 5$. Good value for some added performance.

You can be like me the first time around, spend $350 on parts to make you spree less of a pig, but still pathetic , and a gas hog, or spend $400 for a nice dio and get twice the mpg and twice the power. I need to just come out with a dio spree swap kit.

Agreed.

The SpreeDio I built does 62mph, and could still benefit from even taller gears. Swap takes just a few hours

even a stock variated af05e swap is way better than a fully modded spree motor and theres bore kits, gears, intakes, carbs, exhausts, variators enought parts to yeld 50 to 60 mph

mill the stock head .030in . clean the exhaust port of carbon and put a new drive belt. put a 2.75x10 rear tire and hou should see 35mph with a little extra torque.

Port your intake tube and get reedblock and reeds from a later spree or sb50 bend the reed stopper in a vice so it just clears the case when the reed block is installed in the case, then rock and roll with the above stuff mentioned by bakaracer.

Where do I send it to get the head milled .030? Also If I have it done do I need to have a BBK or different carb? I was hoping to not have to do the BBK.

Nope you don't need a different carb or big bore kit, you are making the most of your stock intake an head by milling and porting.
