depends on what gears you find for it.

My friend built a af05 that cruised around at about 50-60mph with 9:1: gears.
new best 1/8th mile time 9.647 seconds @67.155 mph 310lbs total weight

how about stock gears? i know taller gears give you a better top speed but i dont want to crawl away from red lights

Greetings:

Look up Flash 2, circa early 2009. With the Malossi gears and a 24mm carb, I got 58 point-something on the GPS. OK, that was downwind, a little, but still...
On a couple of cold days with a long run, I'm certain I broke the 60 MPH mark. Alas, I cannot confirm as I wasn't carrying Garmin-Girl.

The bad part of 7.83:1 primaries is the zero to eight MPH take-off. Painfully slow until the clutch engages and speeds are high enough for the engine to sing. The Malossi/LeoVince combination topped out at 9200 or so, and was on the downside of its powerband even then.
