Thats insane!!! I have a 135 on my 26mm and it get horrible mileage (82cc). I am going to go with your polini 24mm for all my builds then.

Greetings:

It's simple physics. That fuel in sufficient quantity is getting through somehow, or it will overheat and fry. Maybe the Main is smaller but the emulsion tube vacuum is stronger? I can't say I've noticed a drop in apparent fuel consumption, but then again I never measure - just tank up from my 4 gallon container.

Greetings:

I suspect Signore Polini's miserly fuel consumption occurs mostly off-throttle and in steady-state cruising. Cleaner when the mix isn't sloppy-rich when the engine is revving easy. I did notice cleaner low-end, mostly, and I'm still pretty rich on mine myself.

Its no secret that the oko carbs are more difficult to tune and not as high quality as keihen and dellorto. Im sure polini did a fine job of replicating and maybe even advancing the pwk style carb. Just like porting a cylinder or even blueprinting your setup adds up to better performance. I decided to go with a 26mm polini flatslide for my build. It is on the large side, which will make it more difficult to dial in, but should yield better performance. I have a PE 28mm carb from a CR80 that I got off ebay for $20 but the CT manifold is 26mm and the Keihen pe is 20 years old.
