Greetings:

This is a cool-looking, albeit untested mod. You did a particularly nice job on it.

Those seeking a bit more Breeze from their primitive air coolng system can perform another. I didn't post the Pics, but like many others last week I eliminated the plastic grill covering the fan air intake. I recently had an episode of uncharacteristically hot running on a warm day, and felt it necessary to do whatever possible to improve the airflow through what may or may not be an obstruction.

Hacksaw blade and patience made for a 20-minute job. Just gotta be careful passing small birds on the right...

hi Mr wheelman. I must credit you for this mod. I got the idea from you. After my temps hit 425 on the Corsa. melting point. I added this scoop. now temperature maxes out around 350 ish. depending on outside temperature. it worked for me. :)
I did see the mod of cutting out the grill, but was concerned about something falling in and destroying the fan.
we have to do what we can to protect our investment. And protect little birds. :peace:

caution this may not work in Texas where it's 103 in the shade. that's the least of your concerns. your chestnuts on a black seat would be your main.

hi make sure your scoop is vertical and even to catch the air. If its off on one side it will become a ramp. And flow the air away from the fan. which is no good.
you can see I have to cut or grind down my new one, on the bottom side to make it even with the top. that way the air flow go's into the fan. and not like a skateboard ramp. that will flow the air out.

Thats a great point! I was about to offset mine to also act as a shield from falling rain while parked out side.
I'll try hacking up an elbow for the same effect cover and scoop

Have you changed the internal fan to a performance style fan? That should help also...

it's a small scoop but it works great. like sticking your hand outside the window on the highway. direct air towards you to cool off. Hope this helps. Yes you can get a performance fan. but this is cheap like $3 Home Depot.
