AF16 variator question

Hello everybody.
Looking to buy a variator for the Elite soon. I know the Polini and Malossi units get rave reviews, not only here but on other boards too. I hear the Keli is good, I used to have one on my Jog and loved it, but I dont know where to find one for my Elite..
I hear mixed reviews around here about Prodigy variators..
I have not heard much about the Koso variator around here except a few people harping on it.

So my question is... How are the prodigy and Koso variators? Does anyone have or had either of them? Everyone says "they are cheap" but how exactly? And How does the Koso and Prodigy stack up to the big Polini and Malossi units? Because I have been running a Koso on my Jog for awhile and I like it better than the Keli I had... So Im curious about the Dio version yaknow.

Thanks in advance for all the guidance.

When everyone says they're cheap they kind of are, not really.. haha. There both around the same pricing as the Keli Variators.. Ive ran the Chrome Polini Variator with The chrome Ramp plate I forget exactly which model.

Im going to have to try to see If i still have my Koso Variator So i can give you measurements compared to the Keli and Polini ones..

Well its only 35 bucks (or less) so i figure i will run it for awhile and post the results. If it turns out to be that bad, Ill go for a nice Polini one.

I'm running one of those on my af18. I have a malossi but I didn't have any luck with it right off the get go so I popped in the koso that I had ordered for the hec of it. It works very well over the stock vari. My malossi will rock once I get it figured out but I didn't want to spend the time trans tuning. I don't have a lot of miles on the koso but I'll report on the roller condition next time I have it apart. I'm running koso rollers in my aero 80 and they seem to holding up fine over the past few thousand kilometers.

So far so good. I put new polini belt (Thanks RedEft!) and a 20 dollar Koso variator. The stock rollers already had small flat spots so I will put fresh OEM rollers in for 1000 miles or so and post the results on how they wear.
Performance wise this Koso rips!! I dont have gps anymore to track my speed, but I went from 38mph to 47mph on one of those "speed trap radar sign things", on a downhill slope when I tuck in of course. IMO thats not too bad when compared to the $80+ offerings from polini and malossi, but Ill keep everyone posted on the longevity and reliability of this Koso variator.
