28mm oko carb tuning

Post by solid808 »

Okay guys hopefully you guys can help me on this one. I have a 72 corsa, mini stroked. Yes I have the right amount of head gaskets. 28mm oko carb, 7.4-1 gears, 1500 contra, 3000 clutch spring. My bike runs super good but from close to full throttle. But my only problem is my temp. cruising temp 1/4 to 1/2 I'm getting up to 350 about 50 mph. I full throttle it for a bit and temps don't really rise to bad, highest temp I got was 378 and was getting worried I am running to hot. I know I am running a 55 slow jet. Do you think I should up the jet to a 58 or just fiddle with the air fuel mixture screw. My main if I'm not mistaken is a 138 and it doesn't bog or hesitate at ll so i don't think thats a problem its just my temps got me worried at 1/4 to 1/2. or I should up my jets all around? thanks any help will be very much appreciated from you moped gurus...

I put a 58 slow jet in tuned the carb and throttle response is still super good. and full throttle is good. Was wondering if I should make it a little rich by putting a bigger main jet in.. right now I have a 135 in it maybe a 138 just to run on the richer side a little? what do you think?

I currently run 152/55 on my 28mm OKO carb. Tuning is just dialing it it in over days and many many runs.
I'd mess with the air/fuel, jets, and needle.
BUT ONE AT A TIME. ;-)

Honestly my opinion..thats about what your temps are going to be..i have close to same setup..50mph is a littlle up in rpms..i cruise around the same speed and occasionaly see those temps..ive had my setup for 5 years..and my jetting is 125 /52..i think you are safe..your compression should be at 125psi

Try up jetting your main and messing with idle and air screw. Also try lighter weights I've noticed putting a bit lighter weights can also help with temp control, this also works vice versa. Not saying this will work in your case but just an opinion
