New Clutch Idea-Smart people welcome

Post by deuce217 »

Hey I was sitting around thinking about how to make a clutch grab better. My idea is to create a clutch that has a cam-like movement that at a certain percent of movement relieves SOME spring tension from the "grabber" springs.

Key points:

The clutch arm travel will be held by the same springs as before but after the shoe moves past a particular fulcrum point the shoe then has less travel resistance allowing the shoe to grip harder without sacrificing low RPM grabbing.

I wish I had time to draw and upload a sketch on this. I wanted to share the idea before I forget.

Interested in seeing what the engineers have to say about this. :urban:

Crushing riot,

Similar idea. I will have to look into that further. It sucks thinking about things that already have been made and produced!
