Hi guys!
I'll try to make a long story short. Purchases a Polini variator for my Elite. The included boss is longer than stock, and caused the belt to slip. Use the stock boss and things worked well.
Purchase an NCY Aluminum drive face. The drive face does not have the small shoulder on the drive side like the OEM. It sits closer together and smashes the belt up higher in the pullet at resting position. Pulled the stock boss out and put in the longer Polini. It's close, but seems like it should really be a little shorter because I think I am getting a small amount of belt slip at take off until the variator moves.
I am trying to decide if I should:
Attempt to remove or machine a small amount of length from the Polini boss
-or-
Use the OEM boss along with shims/spacers to attempt to get it set with the proper spacing
-or-
Are there different length boss's available to purchase?
What is the best method here? What ended up working well for anyone who is also useing the NCY drive face or other aluminum face? I'm assuming that the others on the market are similar to the NCY and sit tighter in against the boss/belt.
Thanks for any help there may be!

Re: Variator Boss Lengths
Greetings:
You should be able to turn the motor over by spinning the rear pulley. If you can't, shim in until your JUST can. If the belt rides high in front, shim out.
At one time, you could buy shim washers for the purpose, but I never was able to find some when I needed some. Where'd you get the pulley shims, Eight?

Yeah, I have those shims from 1man. I just wasn't sure if it it was going to be an excessive amount of shimming. It has been a little colder the last couple of days. I'll have to get the heater going and see if I can get it there with you shims.
