Greetings:

120 to 115 is a pretty big jump. 340F. may be a little below the temps you'd see at peak power, but not very much. Consider obtaining a 118 or something in-between, lest your temps spike too quickly and it seize. I've always felt that 9:1 gears are fine for modest mods or a stock 50cc displacement, but if you want top speed you might consider a little taller. To reach high speeds with 9:1s your engine has to spin a lot faster than the PG Short can support. 10,550 or so is all I could get with my very similar Flash 3.26. The difference was that I was running 7.97s in the transmission.

often overlooked, but what belt are you running? is it using up all of variator face? best way to check is draw a line w/ a sharpie anywhere on vari face, then see how much of it is left toward edge after a ride. 54 def sounds low for that setup..

The aftermarket clutch may be wrong, if you did the pully too.

I have a prodigy variator in it now 5.6 gram weights still but I put a 115 jet in it instead of a 120 and gained 5 mph and temp was at 340 it felt like it shifted at about 10,800 rpm and dropped to 9800 my friend says I need a stronger contra I have a 1500 I'm gonna put the red 2k back in I'm thinking the jetting was just way rich and not letting it rev cause it feels like a diff animal now
