I bought a polini vari for mine and it goes 40mph with everything else stock besides derestricting it.

Aftermarket vari's do more than help top end. They have better roller ramp angles for improved shifting throughout the entire rpm range. Sure, you can save a few bucks by getting a Chang Wang vari but just like everything in life...you get what you pay for. Thats why cheapie no-name's are $40-$50 whereas Polini/Malossi are $90-$100+.
