How much of a speed improvement does an upjet do? 1994 SA50p

Hi, I have been fiddling around with some derestrictions with my 1994 Honda Elite SA50p that I have been working on. I have a #78 main jet ordered but I am curious as to how much of an improvement it will have on the machine. It has been running lean due to some of my derestrictions so I stopped running it and ordered the main jet.

Depends on how much de-restriction you've done and how much bigger the jet is.

I have done the air box derestriction, variator backplate, and exhaust. The stock jet is a #68 and IÔÇÖm upping to a #78. I am also going to zip tie the oil pump wide open and pour in a little under an ounce of oil in the gas when the jet comes. I have read a lot about the oil pump and it is about .78 ounces needed per gallon of gas along with the SA50p oil pump wide open.

This is just an update.

I drilled out the washer in the exhaust, got performance air filter and opened up the second hole all the way, upjetted to #78, and zip tied open oil pump to compensate and poured a small amount in gas tank.

I am reaching about 35-36 on a flat.

And if anyone else has ideas to improve my top speed that would be nice.

I replaced rollers with new 8 grams because the 9 gram rollers had flat spots so I polished them so they are back to normal.

So, that is an option.

And I forgot that I took off the variator backplate also.

Adding oil to tank isnt needed. Use 9g rollers.

Yeah I noticed it was running with a bit too much oil so I won't add to the tank. Thanks.

Maybe different variator. I did all those modifications to mine and then added a polini variater and increased my speed to just over 40.

I've run the Keli variator on all my "stock" scooters with very good results. The Polini seems to be just a tiny bit wider where the belt rides at take off and caused me to have to use a lighter weight roller so it didn't quite get the top speed I was looking for. This is just my experience. Keli vari can be found on eBay. Last time I ordered some, they sent me free 8.5g rollers just for asking!

So, just put that Keli variator piece in place of the stock and tune the rollers then I will have a speed improvement?
