Hey guys, I figured out my issues with top speed.
I need to chase down a belt.
I have found a Comet cvt belt that is really close to spec., and it's on order.
What are my options for the variator and the clutch?
I can rebuild if I have to, but I'm not sure if there are any transmission parts
out there that are interchangeable with the Aero 80.

When I went through this a few years ago here is what we did to my Honda NH80.
Boyeson Power reeds #740 (You need to google it and check that number)
Up-jet carb
Re-weight the rollers.
Everything else is standard. This derestricted the bike and made it run really well, top speed on the flat with a big bloke is around 80kmh and it has the power to pull up hills and over take 50cc scooters with ease.
From what I can remember there are no aftermarket parts for these old engines. I would hate to try and find a clutch assembly. I couldn't find any variators.
On a side note, my variator was so grooved and worn that the belt would have hung up on it. I had to get it skimmed by a friend on his lathe.
Just google Honda Aero/Lead NH80 and stuff will come up that other people have done.

Well, the block has a broken exhaust stud.
So, I'm putting a new top end with a honda cr80 wiseco 48mm forged piston.
So, that gives me a good idea at the parts list ill need.
So, add some rollers and jets to my bill and I'll have to look into the reeds.

And on the rollers did you go up or down from factory weight?

honda dio 4 bolt big valve intakes bolt right on. and come with reeds and a better reed valve setup. you can run a better carb with that set up.
