I know IÔÇÖve been posting a little too much but this will likely be the last one lol. I have seen options for a Keli variator and Polini variator, I was wondering what the best variator would be for me to get for my moped (cost-effective options are definitely welcome). I am going 36 and barely touching 37 on a flat with gps.

ItÔÇÖs derestricted, I put an aftermarket air filter on so I currently need to rejet because itÔÇÖs running lean so IÔÇÖm waiting for a bunch of jets to come. The Keli variator is on itÔÇÖs way too which I decided on just for the sake of cost over the others.

And btw yes I did have a 78 jet in it which IÔÇÖm thinking needs to be raised because of that air filter.

I'd keep the stock airbox on and keep 78 jet.

Greetings:

Allow me to answer;
No matter what main jet you install, the low speed jet will be too small without the upstream vacuum created by the airbox for which the slow jet was designed. The inlets to the air box are small on purpose. It creates a negative pressure in the carb throat, which sucks out more fuel from the small-ish pilot than if that vacuum is removed by the aftermarket air filter. You can jet fine for wide-open throttle, but when you close that throttle, the pilot can't supply enough fuel on coast-down, resulting in a heat spike you can see if you have a gauge. I've seen it hit over 500 on an early Nikasil bore. It's a miracle it didn't seize.
