tuning advice
ok i need some pointers on tuning my scooter. ive got it so that it accelerates good but the top speed should be higher. here is my setup
elite S
dio with 72cc bore
8.4:1 final drive gears
high speed pulley with 9 gram weights
1000 rpm clutch springs
1500 rpm compression spring
running stock carb with 90 main jet. using stock airbox and running premix
50:1 ratio
r1 exhaust
it goes faster than the stock speedo can read. but it seems to only reach like 45. i know that a lot of people with this same setup are reaching better top speeds. anything you guys notice that i could change?

I think that you could probably play with the trans more... but you need to find someone that knows more about those...

ok i put the weights at 39 grams. it accelerated ok but top speed was really low. like 35mph. i had a 6 pack of 9.5 gram weights so i threw those in and it seemed to accelerate good and top speed was better. it almost went past the mph mark on the speedo. im guessing close to 50 maybe. now im not sure if i should lower the weight or raise it or leave it or what.
something else i noticed is that im using a ton of gas. im on empty after a little over 30 miles. so im probably running really rich.
any thoughts?

Did you change your main jet also?
And for everyone else, to get higher top speed, which do I want? Higher or Lower weight weights? I think i have stock in right now but i have a whole bunch.

youre running all 13 gram weights? what size compression spring are you using? i was also wondering what the reasoning behind the bigger jet is, just cause i think im running a little rich already. maybe i should get an aftermarket air filter and ditch the air box. man that would be cool to wheelie from a stop. oh and what kinda gas mileage should i expect with my setup. ive been getting around 30mpg.
