More Speed/Rev Range advice

Post by DragRacer88 »

I love two stroke power, but dont mind swapping to 4 stroke if needed.

Can I just get a high performance clutch kit or is an 80/125/200/150 or 232cc swap the only way to get more speed? I'd like to get faster than 30 mph on my Honda.

Prefer to go the cheapest/quickest way possible. If I can get 45/50 with just a new clutch, I'd prefer to do that.

Clutch wont do spit for power or speed. You add a better clutch AFTER you get those two...

What would be a good variator to add? Noticed the engines start at 300 and go up to 500/600 dollars.

Found a Polini for 134 on Ebay. Or an af18 for 105.

First, a clear picture of what your goals are would help. Your posts seems to hop around a bit. Start with what scooter/motor you have and what you want it to do. This will help everyone provide you with the easiest, cheapest and most practical path to follow.

Just know, if you have a Spree with a stock motor in it and more speed/power/performance is what you seek..step 1 of modification is to dump the stock motor for an Af16/Af18. In stock form, these motors do 40mph. Then you modify THAT motor for 50-60-70+mph depending how much money you have.

Ok. If I'm going to do an engine swap, I'll go bigger. Cant find any AF16s and the complete engines I have found are sold out.

My built Af16 leaves the 125cc Groms in the dust. Only time a Grom killed me is when it was heavily modified and flew by me. I still took him off the line till about 50.
