Malossi crank part# help

Post by Damdio »

Hi, I decided I should go all out with a Malossi crank. I already purchased the mhr aluminum 72cc cylinder kit. I have spit the case, the oem crank is on the bench, trying to verify I’m buying the correct crank . I have searched and still not certain what part # i need. My scooter is a 1994 Dio the engine code on back of the case is AF18E1033811. Also need part # of oem crank bearings and seals. I Don’t want to buy the wrong parts. Thank You for the Help!

Is it a small crank Af18? If so you will need special crank seals, the bearing should be 20x52x12.

Ntonar How do I know if it’s small crank or large crank? Do you have a measurement I can take?

Easiest way would be to look at the splines that the drive face sits on. I looks like Malossi makes two different cranks one for af18 small spline and one for af16 large spline.

If you have a small spine I would convert it to a large spline. The mag side of the crank should be the same but you will need a smaller seal on the variator side (bearings will be the same as the later dio2 af18 or the af16).

I had a small end, its worth swapping to the big end, better part selection.
