Will I do have a 2018 KYMCO Like 150i and a 2005 Yamaha 125 Vino scooters also but the faster Spree has always interested me so I found the 48mm bore cylinder, piston and rings and a cylinder head and bought it but it is goona need so porting to run right, so that is why I am asking.

Sorry, can't help you Bear.
I still don't like Spree, and too old to change my way.
I'm just shocked and amazed that you have returned after 9 years.
Good to see you sir. Maybe Wheelman can give you some advice.
There's a few guys here that could jump in. Good luck Bear...motor...

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
Glad you found a bore kit in this current year! They're getting rare. I don't think you would need to port the block to get good gains from a BBK, I would try it without porting. If you do end up wanting/needing to port everything, I can't say for certain. I personally would coat what I wanted to remove with a sharpie/paint marker and go at it until all of it is gone, then test the performance.

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
The Spree’s af05e will never be as quick/fast as a Like150 or Vino125 no matter what you do. BBK or not. Even if you try to put taller gears in it for top end, the acceleration will be a total slug because theres no variator. If you set it up with short gears for decent acceleration your top speed will be 40mph and spinning 10k rpms while doing it. You just cant win with that motor. Save yourself the money and headache and just swap in better motor….then modify that one.
I need to find some new haters...the ones I have are starting to like me.
Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
I don't expect blinding preformance just an improvement over stock and I do have the drawing for a Spree variator if it comes to that. But I really need some info on the porting because the Spree doesn't have much power as is and I don't think the bigger bore would like the stock porting.Meatball wrote: ↑Thu Jun 30, 2022 6:01 pm The Spree’s af05e will never be as quick/fast as a Like150 or Vino125 no matter what you do. Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
I would port the intake first, wikispreedia has a page for this.

As for porting your transfer ports/block... can't say for certain about performance gains.

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
The trouble with that page is that it shows only the stock intake and manifold. However I will be using an adapter and a large intake with four reeds and a 23mm carb, so not much help there.

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
Sounds like you are attempting something that nobody currently on this forum has any info to share. Also, 23mm carburetor is probably way too much for the engine size. You are adding an adapter and big reed set-up, so this indicates an unknown that only you can determine how much to remove from ports.

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
I was afraid of that and the 23 is the exact size I should have for a 67 cc engine at least that is the number I cam up with.

Re: I am upgrading my 1983 Spree.
Oh, I see, I only have a 21 on my 80 cc Aero 80 and the 67 cc engine is quite a bit smaller so a 20 at the most and maybe even a 19 which is only 2 cc's bigger than the stock Spree carb.
