I live in hawaii and and theres a multitude of shops that modify mopeds mainly the 1994-2001 Honda Elite S which has a dio motor and Jog. As for my Honda Spree, The Entire block is a 2001 honda Elite S motor (Dio) Keep in mind that honda released this motor from 94-2001 and is the most sought after motor to modify here. After Stroking the motor (51mm cylinder, 51mm stroke=104.22679 CCs) and porting block (intake and boostport) porting the cylinder (Exhaust, and transfer port) Greatly improved Mids and High end but from this point the low end was sacrificed and to improve the low end Ive jetted down on the pilot jet and decreased the weights in the high speed pulley, ive put a centerspring bearing to stiffen out the 1500 centerspring to a 1800, increased spark by installing a racing coil and racing cdi by doin all this it reved higher to improve the low end. and as for top speed 100mph plus
heres the shops (These shops are located in Honolulu, Hawaii):

KS Cycles (This is a new shop, try calling honolulu local operator for number)

Botek Mopeds (808) 943-1868

VT Cycles (808) 593-7733 (1251 S. Beretania St. Honolulu, HI. 96814)
Call for Keoni or Steve

Quik Fix Cycles (808) 536-2277 (725 Auahi Street Honolulu, HI 96813)
Call for Frank (Owner)

Cycle Imports (808) 952-9253 (847 Mccully St, Honolulu, HI 96826)
Call for George (Owner)

Glenns Cycle (808) 732-5547 (3703 Waialae Ave, Honolulu, HI 96816)

My advice to you all is to first try to fit a dio (94-01 elite S SA50) motor first on the spree. I Can put up some pics on how to start because Im planning on building another beast Spree Dio, Once you have it on the frame and aligned you can do the first stage of modification and thats to get a high speed pulley kit, about $50 then change the jettings and remove the restrictor washer in the exhaust using a step bit or dremel, plug the oil lines and then premix with 2-stroke synthetic to 50:1 ratio per gallon, tune the carb then boom go 40-45 mph.

has anyone else attempted to swap or thinking of swapping engines? Im planning one building a drag style spree with a stretched style dio motor, Im thinking of a stroker motor but watercooled, possibly a 54mm watercooled cylinder kit and a 54mm Her II stroker crank putting out 124cc, its in development but not sure yet, post up some suggestions guys, any input

man that is a ridiculous amount of performance in a spree! 8O

Did you have to strengthen the frame any? I've heard that its not really made to handle those types of speeds.

Sweet job, btw. That engine looks badass! :o
projects galore :nerd:

good point, its difficult to stop at those high speeds (60-100), Ive talked to some guy in japan about disk brakes conversion and it is possible, those are my next mod on the bike. As far as speed is concerned its scary to go 60 on a spree, I just built this bike for the * of it

i am kinda taking someone elses words here but try forks off an elite. they will bolt up and be a lot more stable at high speeds.

Besides swapping forks (from an Aero or Elite,) you way want to lean back the head tube about 3 degrees. MRFIXIT did this to his, it will make the scoot more stable at speed. Heat, bend, reinforce.
