you dial in the trans according to your riding style and your weight, if you go lite on the trans you will not have to change certain parts all the time.

VT Cycles. I think they're $16. Tell Keoni you want yellow clutch springs (4,000 rpm). They'll make a scoot with some power into a neck snapper. They basically skip the lower part of the power band and just rev through it. Keep in mind - they're a MAJOR pita to install because they're so tight.
MIKEBB wrote:oopss. What I meant is, do you have 4k spring now? I have 1500 rpm.
You might be getting the clutch springs (there are 3) confused with the compression spring. I installed the 4,000 rpm clutch springs and a 1,500 compression spring at the same time. I didn't like the clutch springs (no low speed throttle) so I went back to stock but kept the 1,500 compression spring.

I'll try that set up. Hopefully I have a better take off. Did you also change the jet in the carb?
No - there's no need to rejet. You're just changing the take-off and tweaking when the clutch engages by swapping out the springs. The part of the powerband that is usually slow with stock springs is just skipped (you rev through it) with the stiffer springs.
well i don't care about my top speed being around 50, i probably won't even go that fast, i just want the option. I'll do most of my driving at 35 or so. So anyone know how fast 9.1 gears get you on a bored scooter?

You shouldnt run them because they will wear out the bore quicker. Lower gearing=higher RPM for same speed.
I am not a mechanic, nor do I play one on TV. Actually my advice is probably worth slightly less than what you pay to view it.
