Dosn't matter any more to me. The Leo Vince set I got cost me $15.00 CAD. No shipping because they came from my local scooter shop. Well maybe it costed me a few dollers in gas to get there and back 8)

What did the 1" longer belt do for you?

When you do the front pully mod you increasing the size of the front pulley, the stock belt automatically spreads the rear pulley some to compensate. This causes a severe a gearing problem in the 0-10 mph range. Your Spree will be real slow off the line.

So increasing the belt size 1" corrected this. "Brian" on expresslymopeds figured this out. Him and a few others pritty much pionered these mods a long time ago. If you go to the forum on that sit and look back around Jan. 2002 you will find all this information.

thats the point tho. u are increasing top speed. with a single speed tranny you are going to lose acceleration. i dont see how this is different then just keeping the stock gearing.

Hmm, so you gain some in the front and lose some in the rear. I'd wondered if you shouldn't be playing with the springs and preload with that mod. I would have been tempted to shave 1/32" off the rear spring in order to change the preload. I'll have to try messing with the belt.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/26489 (expressly mopeds, Honda Express site) is where I found the original mods listed in this section. Talk about a hard site to navigate; I knew the mods were in there but still had a really hard time finding them. I haven't tried to mine any content from there since. What else did you find (besides lengthening the belt)?

Well the ones i got are made by Leo Vince. They are for Motori Piaggio.
Part # 5613.

I did not get these from the Honda dealership. I got them at a local scooter shop. Althogh I could have got a set from honda. they would have had to order them in. I don't know what brand they could get. as I wanted them now and not in two weeks! I think it's because of my generation ... That is the "I want it now" generation!!

just so you know, I doubt you'd be able to get Leo Vince springs from a dealer. these are aftermarket springs, and a dealer would probably only have stock ones. (imo)
projects galore :nerd:

you could try your dealer. the one i go to has a big book of aftermarket parts for hoping up any bike be it a crotch rocket or a dirt bike or scooter. you might just luck out.
some dealers are a pian in the a.. though. and won't sell anything but stock honda parts.

On the 70cc kit for Spree: I've looked at the difference between the '85-87 Aero (Vision) jug and the Spree. While it's not a direct bolt up, the bolt pattern does match. That means that if you were willing to modify the bottom end, you could dremel out the Spree cases to accept the Vision 65cc kit. You would need to open up the bottom end to thoroughly clean out the alum and carbide grinding bits though, so this would be quite a bit of work. You should then be able to use an aftermarket Vision pipe, needing only minor mods, and mods/replacement of the fan shrouds.

I'm not sure about fitting the Dio kit. You'd need to change the rod. I believe the Vision kits (Aero/early Elite) used a 10mm piston wristpin, and the Dio kit would use a 12mm wristpin with a much larger piston. The Dio engine seems to be a much shorter stroke engine that the Spree, since stock the piston is 51mm diam. Shrouds would be completely different. I think the Vision swap would be cleaner.
