Various Variators

Post by Wheelman-111 »

Greetings:

It's helpful to specify your model/year. I will install the Keli on my '87 Aero this week and will report on the process and performance.

keli makes the best pulleys.

OKO is a company that makes clones of all the other brands. the OKO pulley is a clone of the Keli.

i noticed the oko kit comes with a new ramp plate. and the keli doesnt come with ramp plate. is there a performance advantage with different rampplates? or is the oko ramp plate the same as the stock one? should i just get the keli and use my stock ramp plate?

Get the Keli and use your stock ramp, that's why ramp isn't included, because its same thing. I had to get a variator with the ramp for my se-50p. since the "p" is a restricted ramp and because of that I had no choice.

Yep, or so darn close you won't ever know  The part belt rides on is what makes the difference (more area for belt to ride higher on).

I found a Keli with ramp since I needed un-restricted ramp. I later aquired a stock variator with un-restricted ramp. They appear identical. Daywot sells Keli variators without ramps, if you need a ramp for it he will sell you a stock ramp for $10.

SEF ramps gives you a lot more mid and top end power compared to a stock ramp it will flaten out on the mid

So basically then the Oko is a direct copy of the Kelli?

I would buy the Kelli but the Oko's can be had for much cheaper. The reason I am considering the Oko's is because I will be buying for 2 Elite's.

Is the quality that much different or the performance between the two of them or is the Kelli that much better?

I just do not want to waste my money paying for a name.

That guy on eBay sells them for $25.00 shipped with free roller packs.

I was going to buy 2 of em. I can get 2 for almost the same price as one Kelli.
