more speed?

more speed?
my 87 spree goes about 32 mph most of the time, besides cleaning he carb and all that other common sense stuff, is there any CHEAP way to get more speed?
(thing i have done myself)
i bought a sheet of uni pre filter the same thickness as stock air filter and cut out a fitting to replace the stock air filter.
I drilled 2 3/8th inch holes in the airbox lid.
I drilled out the #65 stock jet from .025 to .0292.
those mods gave me a full two mph for only $5.
(things i have heard about on forums, never have tried them myself yet.)
shave .030 off of the front pulley
file out the restrictor in the intake
replace stock cylinder gasket for a silicone gasket for more compression
mill the head .020 for more compression
hope this helps

I have a 1986 red Honda Spree
mods: uni prefilter, two 3/8 inch holes drilled in airbox lid, drilled jet out from .026 to .0292.
I also have a 1999 Yamaha Blaster
stock except Graydon Proline Nerfs Holeshot tires and aluminum rims.

Cheap?
- Drill the exhaust out. 4 1/4" holes around the outpipe. Need a >6" drillbit
- Remove the intake manifold and smooth the transition from the carb toward the reeds.
- Get a pod filter for the carb and a little pile of extra jets, #70 -#80 and a little pile of new plugs to do plug chops.
- File about 1/32" off the inner pulley. This makes the halves get closer together, increasing the fixed ratio.
You can mill the head about .0015" with the stock head gasket, if you'd like. This increases compression, but requires taking it to a machine shop.
