no. its not on the clutch its on the crankshaft.

This is all explained in the technical section. But I'll say thi anyways. The washers are used to re-align the pully halves so the belt rides straight. If you dont re-align the pully you will go through belts faster than normal.
You also can use the washers to adujst the spacing between the pully halvs to set how much top end low end you want.

It was extreamly easy. I did it after smoking a huge joint. and even then it was easy

Quick question.
I am gonna do this mod, but I do not want to take off the belt to bring it in for the oversized one. I have an 86 Spree, has anyone done this mod and what belt did you buy? Part # / Brand would be great. Thanks.
EDIT: I already took mine off and did the mod. I went from 27mph to 30-31mph top end. Bottom end is a bit less torquey...but no too bad.
