So I got my Aero 50 to a a GPS verified 45 and since it runs so beautifully I moved on to the next project( I always need a project). So I got this 70 VW Bug, not my first aircooled VW, I've had 2 bus'. I'm surprised to find the corelation between scooters and VW owners. I think it's a "used to going slow" thing. So, I've been spending my forum time on the Samba recently and learning the ways of the VW, just as I learned the ways of the Honda 50 here. So here's some pics of the project. I'm curious if there's any other VW lovers out there. Share some pics. Thanx for all the help along the way.

Ha. Sweet van. I guess the vanagons don't get called a Bus, huh? "Bus" musta died with the aircooled motor.

Re: From NB50 to 1970 VW Bug
First gen of the Vanagon was still aircooled. I had a '84 Vanagon for a daily driver for years. My first bug was a '68 I got while in Ft. Hood back in 1983. I sold it in 2005. I think I put close to 100,000 miles on it. My next VW was a '71 Single Cab, loved it, kicking myself for selling. Then there was the '65 Bug. My wife has always wondered why I drive small cars when I'm 6'2" 230lbs. It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.
I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.
